1-1/2 Inch deep, 4 Inch square welded junction boxes with vertical drywall brackets and (6) 1/2 Inch & (3) 1/2 Inch-3/4 Inch side knockouts and (3) 1/2 Inch & (2) 3/4 Inch bottom knockouts are used when 4 Inch square boxes must be mounted directly to wood or metal studs. Square boxes are used to bring power to a number of electrical devices where multiple conductor runs are split in two or more directions.
