• The SFF-8087 connector is a 4x mini-SAS connector that can support up to 128 lanes of SAS traffic, while the SFF-8088 slot is a standard full-size SAS slot that supports up to 16 lanes of SAS traffic.
• This cable is commonly used to extend the distance between a storage device and the motherboard, allowing for more flexibility in system design and layout. It also connects multiple storage devices to a single controller card, providing a cost-effective solution for building large-scale storage arrays.
